Pasarét or Normafa ski slope? Which one should you choose for ski lessons?
Are you looking for ski lessons in Budapest but can't decide between the Normafa Ski School and the Pasarét Ski School?
At both locations, you can learn on a Neveplast dry ski slope, so there’s no need to wait for snowfall to practise your first turns or prepare for winter skiing. Your choice mainly comes down to the surroundings and ease of access.
Dry ski slopes: the same surface, different layouts
Both slopes feature an Italian Neveplast synthetic skiing surface. The surface at Normafa is slightly newer and laid on a concrete base. The slopes differ in their setting and layout, but both locations welcome children and adults, from beginners to advanced skiers.
Ski lifts: an important difference between the two ski schools
At Normafa, a rope tow takes you to the top of the slope: you hold onto the moving rope as it pulls you uphill. We teach you how to use it step by step during your lessons.
Pasarét has a Sunkid Comfort Star button lift and a conveyor lift, also known as a magic carpet. The button lift pulls you uphill using a small disc-shaped support, while the magic carpet carries you up as you simply stand on its moving belt.
Pasarét Ski School: easy-to-reach ski lessons in Buda
The Pasarét ski slope is located in Budapest’s District II, within the Vasas Pasarét Sports Centre. Its convenient location makes it a practical choice for fitting a ski lesson into your day after nursery, school or work.
Normafa Ski School: skiing close to nature
At the Normafa ski slope, ski lessons come with the peaceful natural surroundings of the Buda Hills. Located on top of the Normafa Gate Visitor Centre, the slope makes it easy to combine your lesson with a walk or a family outing.
Parking at Normafa and Pasarét
If you’re arriving by car, please check the parking rules, as only on-street parking is available for guests at both ski schools:
At Normafa, parking charges apply on weekends.
At Pasarét, parking charges apply on weekdays, but only until 6 pm.
Always check the local parking signs when you arrive.
Which ski slope should you choose?
Both slopes are excellent places to learn to ski: whether you start at Pasarét or Normafa, you’ll find everything you need to master the basics and keep improving. Choose the location that’s more convenient for you and the surroundings you enjoy most.
Pasarét offers easy access, along with a magic carpet in addition to the button lift, making the journey uphill particularly easy for beginners and younger children.
Normafa offers natural surroundings and a quieter atmosphere on the slope: there’s more space to practise, and you can combine your ski lesson with a family walk or outing.
At both ski schools, we offer private and group ski lessons to help you prepare for the snowy slopes.
